In Pennsylvania, Townhall is reporting problems already: GOP Election Board members have been tossed out of polling stations in at least half a dozen polling stations in Philadelphia because of their party status. Posted: 04 Nov 2008 08:53 AM CST I am watching election news all day and will be bringing it all here to Wake up America throughout the day. Long lines at the polls, voter turnout should be large and bloggers and writers throughout the blogosphere have all done what they could to bring information to their readers about the topics they considered important. No matter who wins today, America will have chosen their President elect, the next person to become President of the United States of America. Whoever wins, the people rooting for the "other guy" will be disappointed, but how that disappointment is expressed is as important as the feelings themselves. I have seen threats to "take to the streets" from liberal supporters if John McCain should win, that is as unacceptable as the comments from McCain supporters saying they will obey no laws enacted in the next four years should Barack Obama win. Folks, whether you are a liberal or a conservative, everyone has fought for what they believed to be right and the rest is left up to our election system. Some do not like the system we have in place, others have a problem with how the media handled their jobs, the list of complaints go on and on from both sides, but the bottom line is we work with what we have, we VOTE, we hope our candidate wins and then we all move on, no matter what happens. People, from both sides of the political aisle need to understand that things are not always the way we want them, reality is very important, and supporters from either candidate need to understand that just because you want reality to be different than what it is, won't make it so, no matter how much you stomp your feet and beat your chest. That doesn't mean people should stop reporting the news as it comes out. It does not mean that illegal activities during election day, from either side of the political aisle should not be reported on, but when all is said and done, the votes are counted and the official announcements are made, supporters of the candidate that did not win, need to have their little hissy fit, stomp their feet, scream and yell in private, then they need to calm down, and move on to working for the next election cycle. For me, no matter who wins today, I am definitely going pour a drink, toast America because the longest campaign season in history will finally be over, even though I have no doubt that the 2012 campaign has probably already started! Via email, it does bear noting that Rasmussen is telling people to beware of exit polls, do not let them make you assume you know the outcome before the votes are counted. Throughout the day I will add links here to the pieces I do relating to the election today, listing them as updates. Whoppi Goldberg is TOO STUPID TO BE ALLOWED TO VOTE Posted: 03 Nov 2008 11:13 PM CST On Today's View, Ms Caryn (Whoopi Goldberg) Johnson once again showed her complete lack of knowledge of the Constitution of the United States. Two months ago Johnson attacked John McCain saying that his plan to appoint Judges who will be strict constitutionalists will lead to a re-institution of slavery. Today Ms Johnson Said that she READ the constitution and she was still worried about a return to slavery. Obviously she skipped the 13th Amendment. HOW THE HELL COULD SHE MISS THAT? It was in all the papers-150 YEARS AGO! Whoopi before you start spewing such inflammatory charges on national television, maybe you should check the facts beforehand. Read all the amendments. If you live near Ms Johnson and see her leave the house tomorrow PLEASE PREVENT HER FROM VOTING. Thank Goodness slavery is banned FOREVER in this country, but as Far as I know there is no constitutionally granted right for Idiots to vote so please stop this women from getting near a voting machine. Obama’s Words on Bankrupting the Coal Industry: You Be the Judge Posted: 03 Nov 2008 02:51 PM CST Update: Finally, we have obtained and posted the SF Chronicle's full in context audio and video of the Obama coal “bankrupt them” interview. Revelations yesterday of an audio-tape of Obama stating that his cap and trade system would bankrupt coal-powered plants has caused furor. Democrats claim clips were taken out of context. The San Francisco Chronicle didn’t make a transcript available. According to SFGate Politics Blog, the ''hidden'' audio with Sen. Barack Obama regarding his statements on coal, was never hidden. “The entire interview has been in the public domain, available on line to the public -- and to the McCain campaign -- since early January.” The link that SFGate provided, however, is for an mp3 download. The article didn’t provide a link to a full transcript. Tony Rutherford, a reporter with Huntington News, wrote today that the audio-tape came from a San Francisco Chronicle interview with Obama on Jan 17, 2008, and the published story on Jan 18 provided no transcript.
The questionable part of the interview follows the above quote but Rutherford’s article failed to provide a quote or a transcript. Rutherford did comment: But Obama’s statement in context would allow coal that when burned gives off low emissions of carbon. So far no major news services have published the full transcript. However, transcripts can be found at Gateway Pundit, Politics and Critical Thinking, The Partisan Report, and ABC news Political Punch blog. Here’s a portion of what Obama said in that audio-clip that caused the outrage.
Gateway Pundit wrote that Obama’s stance on coal goes “hand-in-hand” with what he said about nuclear energy. “His preconditions make it impossible to expand nuclear energy at this time.” Additionally GP reminded readers that “Obama said he would raise power and fuel prices to change our bad habits and that it's going to hurt.” See Opinion:Can We Afford to Forget Obama’s Price Signals? Edited clips from the Obama coal interview audio tape can be found on YouTube here and here.
